TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks: Check TBSE Class 12 Passing Maximum and Minimum Marks

TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks: TBSE class 12 passing marks are 33% for all subjects. Students who fail to obtain passing marks in a subject or two can appear for the TBSE 12th supplementary exam. However, those who do not obtain passing marks in more than 2 subjects will have to repeat the academic session.

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) is conducting the TBSE class 12 board exam from February 24 to March 22, 2025. Important notifications regarding the board exams are released on the official site at least two months before the exams commencing date. Results can be viewed and downloaded by the students from the official site after being announced by the board towards the end of May. The pass percentage for the TBSE board had an impressive record of 79.27 percent in 2024, with the majority of students having scored more than 33% in each subject. 

TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks: Subject Wise 

TBSE Board has indicated that each student needs to secure an aggregate score of 165 marks in five subjects to receive the passing certificate. Examinations are divided into practical and theoretical for certain subjects like science, social science, physical education and such. Students must try to give in their best efforts to try and perform excellently in both as it will boost the overall aggregate score.

TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks For PCMB (Medical & Non Medical)

Students must try to achieve at least 33% in their science subjects as well as in math. The question format of the class 12 exams includes objective type, long answer, and multiple choice questions. Students sit for a total of 500 marks test by accumulating all the full marks of the five subjects. They must require a minimum of 165 score altogether to clear their board exams with D as the passing grade and the grade point as 2. Commerce subjects like Business Studies, Accountancy, Mathematics, and Economics must be cleared by commerce students with the minimum passing score.

TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks For Arts 

TBSE students who have opted for Arts will know they must write extremely long answers. They often find it difficult to score the minimum passing marks. Writing answers for subjects like Political Science, Geography, History, and such subjects is difficult, but students can pass. This is because they will just have to secure 33% overall in each of their Arts subjects to receive a pass certificate from the TBSE board. Arts students can download the entire syllabus online and prepare for any upcoming exams or tests they need to appear for.

TBSE Class 12 Grading System 

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education follows an 8-point grading system that ranges from A1 to E. Students can check their performance online where scores and the grades received in each subject will be mentioned. The TBSE board has developed a grading system to indicate the performance of a candidate. 

  • 91% to 100% - A1 
  • 81% to 90% - A2
  • 71% to 80% - B1
  • 61% to 70% - B2
  • 51% to 60% - C1
  • 41% to 50% - C2
  • 33% to 40% - D
  • Below 32% - E

Students achieving more than 91% will fall under the category of ‘outstanding’ performers with an A1 grade in their scorecard. While, on the other hand, the lowest grade will fall under the ‘E’ category which will be remarked as a fail. Students must try to score as much as possible so that if they wish to opt for further studies they can easily get admission because of it. 

Tips To Score Above TBSE Class 12 Passing Marks 

TBSE can be a difficult board for students who do not work diligently on their academics. In 2024, around 66.6% of the questions that students faced were challenging to them. A similar question paper can be expected in upcoming years. Therefore, students who will appear for the exams in the upcoming years must follow the tips and suggestions mentioned below to pass with a score above the passing marks. 

  • Students must try to not stress out at all because stress reduces the ability to understand topics and complex concepts. 
  • Visit the official website and download the latest and updated syllabus. Do not waste your time on topics that are not included. 
  • Take down notes while your subject teacher is teaching you during class sessions. Ask permission if necessary but if you do this you can revise the lessons learned in school at your home. 
  • Focus on your homework as well as your classwork as certain questions and project works do provide great insights and knowledge. 
  • Do practice writing answers by solving past years' question papers. Observe the question pattern.
  • Do your study by utilizing various sources of study material, both offline and online. You can find numerous tutorial videos on platforms like YouTube that may help you better understand a subject that you are weak in. 
  • Studying in groups does help a lot to certain individuals. You can try that or feel free to study alone.
