If students feel an error in the mark sheet, they can apply for scrutiny in July 2024 (tentative). The application for the same must be sent to NBSE's email ID. Applications must be routed through the school or their respective centers. The results of re-scrutiny will be declared 40 days after the declaration of the result. The re-scrutiny fees are as follows:

A candidate shall get at least 33% marks in all the five external examination subjects in the main or the compartmental exams to be declared to pass in the final examination. Below are the criteria laid down by the Nagaland Board of Secondary Education (NBSE) to clear each subject to attain the "Pass" certificate.

NBSE conducts a supplementary exam for students who cannot pass a few subjects. The supplementary examination is a second chance for students. The supplementary exam will be conducted in August 2024 (tentative). The results will be declared in September 2024 (tentative). In 2023, 24,361 candidates appeared for class 10th board exams, of which 17130 students qualified for the examinations. Moreover, 2466 students from government schools passed the class 10th exam, resulting in a pass rate of 49.13%. Furthermore, 91.15% of private school students passed the HSLC exam.
