The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the CBSE Class 12 Registration 2025 for private and regular candidates by October 2024 (tentative) at the Pariksha Sangam Portal. The CBSE class 12 registration is available for all categories of students, including regular, private, and repeat candidates. However, regular candidates are not allowed to register independently, unlike private candidates. If the details submitted by the candidates are incorrect, then the respective school authorities can apply for rectification through a separate special Centralized Admission Master Correction System (CAMC).

Furthermore, candidates who have been declared essential repeats in the compartment exam and wish to improve their performance in one or more subjects are eligible for the CBSE class 12 exam form. CBSE has directed schools to provide details of such students while submitting a list of candidates (LOC).

Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Class 12 Registration

To carry out the application process for CBSE class 12th, students should have completed their registration for class 11th. Therefore, initial registration is mandatory to be eligible to apply for the class 12th examination. The board will provide a registration card for all students upon completing the registration in class 11th. Check out the eligibility criteria given below for class 12th registration:

  • Students who have passed the Matric exam (class 10th) or any equivalent exam from a recognized board are eligible.
  • Students who are not satisfied with their 12th-grade marks can reappear in it next year and apply for it.
  • Students who fail the class 12th examination can apply again and fill out the CBSE class 12 registration form.
  • Female candidates who are residents of the Delhi National Capital Region and have passed the class 10th or equivalent exam from a recognized board.

The following details/documents are required to complete the CBSE class 12 registration process. Students must keep the documents handy before initiating the process.

  • Full name of the candidate and his/her parent(s)/guardian(s)
  • A recent passport-size photograph of the candidate
  • Date of birth (same as mentioned in the birth certificate)

CBSE Class 12 Registration Procedure for Regular Candidates

Regular candidates cannot register by themselves for the board examination. School authorities must follow these steps to register for the CBSE class 12th exams.

  • Step 1: Visit the official CBSE website of the board cbse.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Select the "Click for CBSE Website" link on the landing page.
  • Step 3: CBSE website home page will open. Below "Submission of List of Candidates (LOC), "click on the "Click here" option. It will redirect you to the login page.
  • Step 4: A new page will be opened with various links. Select the one that says "Submission of LOC/Registration".
  • Step 5: The authentication screen will appear. Provide credentials such as your "User ID" and "Password" along with the Security PIN.

  • Step 6: Once all the details are entered, click on the "Login" button.
  • Step 7: Fill out the details of all the eligible candidates and finally submit the data on the website.

CBSE Class 12 Registration Procedure for Private Candidates

Private candidates have to register on the official website to appear in the board exams. Follow the steps mentioned below to fill out the online CBSE class 12 registration form.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of CBSE - cbse.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Click on the "Submission of Examination Forms by Private Candidates Class XII" link under the recent announcements section.
  • Step 3: Candidates are then required to click on the "Continue" button on the following page.
  • Step 4: Now select the category and class from the list, as shown in the image below. Complete the registration form.

Classification of CBSE 12th Candidates

Candidates appearing for the CBSE class 12 exam 2025 must know the evaluation procedure. The following guidelines will give you insights into the vital steps before and after the CBSE 12th and final examination.

Classification of CBSE 12th Candidates
Compartment Category Applicable to those candidates who could not pass the main examination and placed into the compartment and appear only in the compartment subject in the coming examination. This is applicable to class 12th candidates. The candidate needs to provide the details of the previous main examination before applying. Candidates wishing to appear for all subjects should apply under the failure category.
Improvement Applicable to those candidates who passed the main examination (immediate previous main examination) and want to improve their performance. The candidate needs to give the last main examination details to apply. Candidates can select the subject(s) for improvement.
Failures Applicable to those candidates who did not pass the Main examination and subsequent compartment chances. The candidate needs to give the previous main examination details for applying and must select at least five subjects. Candidates placed in the compartment category in the last main examination can also apply in this category. However, in that case, they have to appear in all selected subjects and will be treated as full subject failures.
Additional Subject Applicable to those candidates who passed the main examination and want to study additional subjects (except those who already passed). Candidates need to give previous main examination details in which they passed for applying. Candidates can select any non-practical subjects, excluding those already passed.
Female/PwD Applicable to women and PwD candidates who are bonafide residents of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Candidates can select non-practical subjects.

Additional Details for CBSE Class 12 Fee Payment

CBSE registration fees are only accepted through digital payment methods such as net banking and Debit/Credit cards (both national and international). Applicants can deposit the fee via digital payment methods. No fees will be accepted offline, i.e., DD/postal order/Money Order/ Cheque, etc. No registration form will be accepted without a fee.

The respective bank will update the CBSE class 12th registration fee status on the CBSE server within 24 hours of payment. In the case of bank-related transaction problems of the fee on the server, the candidates have to contact the respective bank. The bank's contact details are given on the CBSE website. The following information is to be notified to the bank for queries regarding payments.

CBSE Class 12 Compartment Registration 2025

Candidates who wish to appear in the CBSE class 12 compartment exam must submit an application form in June 2025 (tentative). The application procedure is slightly different for regular and private candidates. The respective schools will submit the LOC for regular candidates through the CBSE website.

Private candidates can visit the official website and download the application form PDF with details about the fee procedure, eligibility, etc. Furthermore, candidates must submit their online/offline CBSE class 12 registration forms before the deadline to avoid penalties.

CBSE 12th Board Examination 2025 Important Points

Students must consider some specific guidelines that will help them appear for board exams without facing any challenges. Below is a list of important points relevant to the CBSE 12th board exam 2025.

  1. Once allotted, the examination center is final.
  2. No request for a change of examination center will be accepted.
  3. The board will allow an examination center based on the applicant's current residential address.
  4. Candidates will only be able to apply for subjects that are auto-generated by the system.
  5. The board will allow a new CBSE roll number for class 12 candidates who appear for the examination in the current year.
  6. In no case will the candidates be allowed to appear with their past roll numbers.
  7. Admit cards for eligible candidates can be downloaded from the official CBSE website.
  8. The regional office will send the original mark sheet/certificate to the center where the candidate appeared. Candidates can collect the mark sheet/certificate from the examination center upon submitting the original admit card.
  9. Candidates appearing for Improvement of Performance or Compartment subjects will be issued a separate mark sheet reflecting only the marks obtained in the said examination.
