To pass the West Bengal Board HS Examination, one must score at least 30% in the theory and practical papers separately. The minimum passing marks are 21 out of 70 for theory and 9 out of 30 for practicals. For subjects with 80 marks, in theory, the passing mark is 24, and for 20 marks in practicals, it is 6.
One needs to score a minimum of 30 percent in the overall aggregate to pass the examination.
Students who score between 100 and 90 are given a distinction in Class 12. One who scores between 89 and 70 marks are given A grade. While those with 69 and 60 marks will be awarded First Division.
Students scoring between 59 to 50 marks are given Second Division. And those with 49 to 34 marks will get the third division. Students with a score below 35 will fail for improvement examination and have to appear for a supplementary.
